I played Tibia for the first time in 2000 or 2001, I don't recall it correctly, but I started playing everyday in 2002 or 2003. Rookgaard was really boring, I remember it foundly because I was a teenager and the sense of wonder of discovery was great, but it was terribly designed haha I spent probably a month in rook with my first char. It was full of misteries and there wasn't any TibiaWiki at the time, so we really spent a lot of time trying to get that sword in the little island (I don't even remember which one it was), I remember seeing the Minotaur MAge for the first time saying "Learn the secret of death!" and I was so impressed, I really wanted to go there (my friend Alê was with me and said "Are you really sure you want to learn the secret of death?" and this little naive moment still makes me laugh to this day).
The representative is, of course, The Oracle, but to me there are two things: the bugs and Tom. The bugs as in the creature: there was a cave with a 9 bugs spawn in some part of the Island that I don't remember anymore that was a sweet spot that you could grind to go to main island in a day. And Tom buying dead rats. I didn't speak english very well at that time and I never understood WHY he would buy rats, so I thought people ate the dead rats (I was also a child that didn't understand that rats could be a plague in sewers) and I just wanted to get out of that miserable place faster, because I felt like Stallone eating Rat Burguer in Demolition Man
