Can I lose any item on my inbox if it's there for a long time?

I have just wondered If the inbox gets reset or if any item past some time gets "deleted" inside the mail / inbox.

Nope, they'll stay there as long as you don't take them out :)
I myself keep the letters of the houses i've owned since a couple of years ago
