It is about what you hunt and how you hunt.

I use crowssbow crossbow for bosses (umbral master crossbow if the loot depends of the damage, or Crossbow of destruction if not); and bow for hunting (falcon bow or bow of cataclysm).

Bow is better for hunting because the hits are constant, and now it allows you to use diamond arrows. And even when I hunted creatures 1 by 1, I preferred using cristalline crystalline arrows instead of bolts. Doing this you normaly normally get more exp and profit at the end of the hunt.
