Why do rats sometimes spawn at Cobra Bastion?

I was hunting Cobra Bastion with my team and on one day there were Strange Rats spawning here and then while we were hunting.

Why does that happen and how can we get rid of them?

This is one of the effects of the Cobra Curse. To lift it you have to:
