Is it possible to fail while forging Falcon Escutcheon?

When you'll forge Falcon Escutcheon, is it possible to fail like Umbral Creation or is it 100% secure to upgrade your Falcon Shield?

100% secure. 

If you have on your backpack:

• a  Falcon Shield
• a  Grant of Arms
• a  Patch of Fine Cloth

Use the falcon shield and click in the forge (inside the falcon bastion), then the Patch of Fine Cloth will be consumed and the falcon shield will be upgraded to a falcon escutcheon
