During the "In Charge" mission of 20 Years a Cook Quest, is there a specific number of times you have to hit the levers to create each item? Also, what happens if you hit the incorrect lever?

I think it was every 6 clicks. I missed one and nothing happened, but maybe if you miss too many times you get kicked out.
