What is Mantra and How Does It Work?

With the upcoming Monk update in Tibia, several new items will be introduced, some of which have Mantra 2 and other similar effects. I’m curious—what exactly is Mantra, and how does it function in the game? Does it provide passive bonuses, or is it an active effect?

Seems like mantra works similar as Armor points. Each point is supposed to block elemental damage (fire, earth, ice, energy). Elemental damage over time can not be affected by Mantra.
