What are good uses for Manual Sort Mode in backpacks menu?

Sometimes I toggle this Manual Sort Mode for backpacks but I never know what it is used for.

Are there good uses for this mode? I have no idea what it's used for.

This option essentially helps you better organize your container.

When you place an item in a container or move it, it normally goes into the first slot. With this option enabled, you can place an item in a specific slot of your choice.
