Can you die by lava?

I heard a rumor that someone died by lava (by possibly getting pushed?) which I cannot verify this. Is this an actual thing that can happen if so, where?

Yes you can die by lava by doing Dangerous Depths Quest  for example in this spot:

Yes you can. My friend got pushed when it used to hit 1500 dmg and died once.

Once I step there the damage will happen every turn while I stand still or it happens only once you land at this spot?

No. You can't get pushed.  Time ago It was possible, but no longer.
