What happens if i don't return a Demon Infant to his mother?

Question

During the event Demon's Lullaby, you can receive a little demon  and perform some tasks for him to receive a "fully-grown version". So my question is: what happens if I don't complete all the tasks. Will it disappear after the event is finished?

Answer 1

You can keep the litte demon, as long as you do not 'use' it, if you do so, he will return to his mum.

Answer 2

It just disappears and You get a message that the baby has returned to the mother not quite satisfied.

I think something has changed. I remember that I received a child but didn't do any tasks and disappeared after the event.

Thats something new, Maybe you used by mistake? Or Maybe you are right, sadly I Haven't kept any infant for the last years to check >.<
