When would you recommend using them, are they particularly useful for a certain hunt or quest?

Firewalker boots have little practical use outside a decent decoration, to be honest.  The 90% reduced damage from the fire field is awesome in lower levels to ignore fire fields placed by dragon lords or other monsters but in higher levels, this becomes such a minimal worry I never see anyone use these instead of the higher level boots or soft boots.

In my honest opinion, they should take the fire field damage reduction and just add a passive fire damage reduction.

Like many other items, Firewalker Boots has been implemented a long time ago (12 years) and lost a lot of its real usefulness, a time that Tibia was different, practically another game.

The utility is only to defend against fire field damage,  at that time could make a big difference between waste and profit in a DL hunt for example. Unlike today, that the waste made there can be easily reversed, or you can just not hunting there and hunting in better places (which there were not so many in the past).

The only practical place I see a good use for it are hunts from DL, that were great hunting grounds at the time, and are still good.

Still useful when hunting helps firefighters on Mana Shield.  F.e. on INQ.

For every step you save 20 gp. :D

Although I agree with previous responses, I would like to add that these boots are still useful nowadays but only on very specific scenarios. For instance, if you wanted to hunt hellfire fighters with a lvl 150 mage, it would be a must to use your magic shield. Hellfire fighters put plenty of fire fields so it would be a huge waste of mana losing 20 mana points at every single step you give. In scenarios like this one, I think it is good to have a firewalker boots.
