What are the current uses for enchanted gems?

Question

With the removal of elemental weapons from the game with the addition of imbue slots on equipments, it calls the question of what current uses do the enchanted rubies, emeralds, etc have?

What items still require those items being used? Is there a reason to still make them on my Druid and sorcerer that I leveled to 30 for that very reason?

Small enchanted gems are now only needed for a few things as far as I know:

• 20 of them are needed to use the machines on Elemental Spheres quest.
• These can be used to enchant specific items such as the Rainbow shield, or the Firewalker boots.
• 2 of each one are required on Threatened dreams quest.

 Those are all the uses I can recall at the moment...

you can also use one to enchant Dracoyle Statue you need an enchanted emerald
