Where can traps be used and what else are they useful for?

What can we do with traps? Are they useful to hunt? If so, which creatures/bosses and strategy could traps be useful for?

Years ago knight used them to hunt warlock on demona. Nowdays the only good use for them is to make them silvered traps and hunt Feroxa

I can only answer my personal use for them, i carry 3 of them because i hunt in cobra bastion but i dislike wasting my stamina so i put this traps on the floor to kill cobras   to take the venom from them and wont waste 1 single second of stamina since im not getting exp from them.
