How long does the status condition Feared last?

I was wondering how long this new status condition lasts on a character once you are affected by it?

After you take the fear, you spend 6 seconds with it and after it leaves you, you get 10 seconds immune.

So your feared for 6 seconds and what does this mean? Then after the 6 seconds your 10 seconds immune to fear or what? Sorry I am not sure
