I'm aware that in many cases you should give up a single armor point for an extra percent of physical defense e.g. dwarven legs v. zaoan legs when it comes to big hits. There are many videos out there testing this, however, I wonder how far does a single armor point protects your hp against incoming physical damage? One way of knowing would probably be testing your damage against different targets neutral to p dmg whilst checking its armor in the wiki page, but it doesn't hurt to ask and see if the science is out there already. Cheers.

Hello, Stonks!

Indeed the way you imagined was done a long time ago and we saw that, on average, each +1 on equipment covers for 0,75 damage on total.

There is also one important note that if your total armor is equal an even number, the total value that'll count is the odd number before, so, for example, if your total armor is 29, you actually have 28 armor.

You can see in more details here.
