Why Ornate mace is considered better than Arcane staff?

According to tibia wikia both have the same imbue slots, however I have seen a lot of people recommending the Ornate Mace over Arcane Staff, even when Staff is lighter, have +1 attack, +4 of def, overall seems better than ornate.

Arcane Staff is a two-handed club while Ornate Mace is an one-handed club. In this level range, 75-90, shield is still an important equipment for low level EKs, that's why the Ornate Mace is usually better.
