Why am I unable to sell demonic essence to NPC Augustin?

Question

According to the following screenshots, demonic essence can be sold to NPC Augustin. However, I am unable to sell to him. According to this post, it can be sold after delivering 3000 for the completion of "The Dreamer's Challenge Quest", which I did.

Am I missing something?

did  you reach the part of the quest were npc find you friend of them? (in order to trade with all the npc there regularly)  maybe you just ended dreamer's challenge but you aren't trustful enough for them.

As I said in the previous answer, you need to write "ethereal" to npc to open a trade window with essences(and soul orbs), normal trade does not show these items, same for "Gnomish" items (Golden Sickle, Orichalcum Pearl and purple tomes)
