Can you catch multiple sandfish in the same day?

Sandfish are fishable during the River Runs Deep Mini world change. They are fairly rare to catch during the event, however I have only ever tried to catch one per event. Is it possible to catch more than one per day?

Yes it is possible. Yesterday on my world was River Runs Deep MWC. So I tested it out and caught two sandfish.
