Tibiawiki states CipSoft has confirmed that When a specific amount of players used their amulets then there will be a little "cosmetic" change., however, this comestic change is yet to be discovered.

This has not been updated in over a year - does anyone know if it's been discovered yet, and if so, how many cobra amulets were needed?

There is no source for this information on Wikia or any evidence given. I would start first of all by confirming whether the mechanism in question actually exists.

That information was passed on by Lionet during a Test Server, on the public Test Server board. There's no way to prove it because the boards are closed after the Test Server ends, so you'll just have to believe me or the other people that saw it. There are probably worlds that have done it, but the change is so small it hasn't been noticed.

I would assume that this idea was dropped due to complications of the mechanism. Because how would that work with market? Wouldn't had to be a new sprite over there too or cyclopedia(because it would be only cosmetic change means you can still sell it right) ? But then, that would contradict the "surprise" effect. Considering that with that update we had few items which can be enchanted, it could have work like enchanted items- but again, it is bit troublesome to remove option of trading the item only for cosmetic effect. Now, I would say it will got to do with colour of the orb or shinning effect around it as we receive following message when returning the amulet "The orb inside the amulet disappears in a gentle glow the very moment you place it on the small pedestal." "A small note reveals itself in its place.".
Frankly, It would be better that instead of cosmetic change, it would give back Cobra Amulet properties to all Note About two Souls (death protection etc).
I guess the easiest would be to change look of the altar instead of all amulets on server.
Perhaps none yet delivered right amount and sprite is to be yet uploaded to the client ;-)

Idontknow: probably the cosmetic change is inside the Cobra Bastion and not in the items. There are places in the game with cosmetic changes (like the goblin merchant in venore that has his house improved if the server repeats the tasks many times)

I usually keep a record of such things, but I was unable to find a screenshot of the post. I also looked up public boards where it could have been posted (even though I'm pretty sure it was a TS), but didn't find it, so I guess it was indeed during a TS. Players often ask more general questions about lore during those and Lionet sometimes reply and explains things like that.

Yeah I was hoping it worked like the Venore Swamp one or like how when you progress through the Zao quest, it changes. Hopefully we will find out one day, or perhaps on a test server? I don't think many are trying right now due to the cost of the cobra amulets.

I wonder if it is possible for this to be confirmed on a test server if enough amulets are sacrificed?

Probably, but unless the amulets can be obtained from the TS assistant I can't see this working. Similar attempts to gather a lot of players and try "random" stuff during TS were never successful.

Tibiawiki conducted an investigation on 2025 Summer Update Test Servers trying to change Cobra Bastion.

Here are the results:

Results

At the end of the testing, the following consolidated results were observed:

  • No changes were observed in Cobra Bastion after the massive delivery of The Cobra Amulet The Cobra Amulet.gif.
  • Up to 75 deliveries, no achievements or titles were granted.
  • The exact mechanic for removing the Tendril Wall remains unclear. During testing, Testera USA.gif had the tendril removed without our intervention. This suggests some specific action occurred, unrecorded or unreplicated. We tested several scenarios on Testebra Brasil.gif without success, including:
    • 1 amulet + tendril burn with Flask of Lump Oil
    • Tendril burn + use of Cobra pot
    • Tendril burn + Cobra pot + delivery during/after burn
    • Delivery with tendril still active
    • Tendril burn + defeat of Scarlett Etzel
    • Tendril burn + coin delivery in treasure room
    • Combinations of the above
  • Despite being a new server, it is uncertain if the Test Server is still ideal for investigations. Some world changes may be disabled.
  • Delivery strategy was based on trying 50 amulets first, then testing lower amounts: 25, 15 — as previous attempts used only 13.

Conclusion

The study found no evidence that using The Cobra Amulet affects Cobra Bastion visually or mechanically up to the tested volume (75 deliveries on a single server). No achievements or titles were granted, and no structural or cosmetic changes were observed.

The absence of perceptible effects does not entirely rule out the possibility of hidden mechanics. It is possible that activation depends on unknown factors, such as significantly higher quantities, parallel actions, or specific prerequisites.

We recommend future investigations explore:

  • Higher volumes of amulet deliveries per server;
  • Simultaneous interactions across multiple Bastion areas;
  • Testing in regular servers outside the controlled Test Server environment.

Maybe in a future test server try to collect 100 amulets
