Which hints or clues do we have regarding Npc Turvy & Topsy's boss?

I wonder if there are any clues about what happened to these Npc's Boss, is there any book in the game talking about this matter? If so, which ones & where to find them?

An actual boss creature or someone who is in charge? :o kinda curious lol

he meant who is in charge. If you talk with those NPCs in Thais, one of them will tell you something very suspicious about it:

"Player: Boss
Topsy: I had one once. He should have bought better armor. Actually – he’s upstairs".
