Me and my party tried to do the Modified Gnarlhound soul core today and we failed miserably. Mostly because they have high HP (1500 normal + more health buffed) and they only have 10% weakness on some elemental damages. Their mitigation is also high.

All who already have done some soul cores know how high is the defense of fiendish monsters and even the mobs with +1 and +15 modifiers were already unkillable, so we decided to give up because the final boss would run out of time.

Is it possible to do this soul core or is it impossible? Has someone already did it?

Maybe Cip needs to make some modifications on it and make it more vulnerable on the Soul Pit?

Thanks.

Yes, it is definitely possible. Below is my screenshot with the soul core completed.

It took a while but we were able to complete it. The team consisted of ~1k MS, 800 MS, 800 EK, 800 ED, 600 ED. Just make sure the EK keeps the creatures together so you can attack them all at once and max out on DPS. I hope this helps.

I just managed to succed on my second solo try (EK lvl 700, 122 sword base). There are a few things to consider:

1- You must either be an EK or have one in your party; having them run around would make it impossible.

2- Overpower charm with 11% chance is a must. It ignores resistances and deal 120 damage each time it triggers as its dealt as neutral damage.

3- Even though the wiki states that it takes 10% damage from physical attacks, fire seems to be more effective. I tried the ones by Telas comparing falcon longsword with sanguine blade.

4- As you can expect, DPS is a must, I used all the tricks up my sleeve to achieve 201 sword fighting, along with exori min expanded shape.

It took me almost all the allowed time (~8 min), the first time I wasnt prepared so it kicked me out with the last mob on yellow. I wanted to try attack prey but it wont let you select it, probably because it yelds no xp.

I hope this helps.
