The time after using the Battle Tactics counts offline?

As the title says, when using Battle Tactics and making Ada's creatures weaker, we are informed that the effect lasts for 4 hours. Is this effect continuous or only while the character is online? Is there a way to test this?

Yes it counts even if you are offline, so be careful when using it… I tested during the test server and I used it and had to logout for a few hours and when I logged again it showed a message that the effect was off.
