Now that we have proper knowledge about the Attack Value and can accurately determine our damage sources, it should be easier to understand how these variables impact our spells. Since we have the base power and most of the necessary data available, the following questions arise:
Does the spell formula use the Attack Value value in conjunction with individual stats (Skill/Level/Weapon Attack), or the formula is independent of the Attack Value calculations?
Which provides a greater damage increase for a spell: the Weapon Attack value or the Distance Skill? Hpw much is the difference?
Is the base damage (from Level, perks, or items) added at the end of the calculation? How is the hierarchy structured for specific cases, such as the Strong Ethereal Spear (2nd Augment)?
A good example is the comparison between Strong Ethereal Spear (especially when paired with Sharpshooter) and the standard Ethereal Spear. Despite a base damage difference of 13 points, the gap only becomes truly noticeable once you exceed 120 Distance Skill; otherwise, the difference is difficult to perceive.
Disclaimer: I know some people see these numbers and have an idea to calculate the damage but don't have the time to do it themselves, could be nice to have some tips and I could try to figure it out myself.
