How to complete the task in the Lion's Rock Quest to make the ornamented fountain appear?

Hi,

I can't ignite fires in final room. I solved all four rooms (I received the messages), but in the room with fountain, after I killed lions, when I place the stones in the right places, no flames appear, and the fountain ofc not appear too.

Can someone advise me how to solve this quest?

Did you get the Translation Scroll? What does it say in your quest log?

(Been a while since I completed this mission i think this is how it worked but its been years!) Are you making sure ur using the gems on the stones? Not just placing them there?

@shawtay Thank you for your advice. For some reason, I was completely blind, and even though I had read the guide multiple times, I didn't notice that I was supposed to 'use'.

Lion's Rock mission 3:
 

You must use the items (via the “use with” option) in the appropriate fields:

Left upper plate - Small Ruby 

Left lower plate - Small Sapphire 

Right upper plate - Small Topaz 

Right lower plate - Small Amethyst
