Hello,

I'm hunting Albino Dragons and I would like to know the numbers behind the two minor charms Gut and Scavenge. I can put any of them on level 3 to have higher chances of dropping or skinning a Albino Dragon Leather, but I would like to know which one gives me the highest chance of obtaining it.

I know Scavenge was nerfed, so I wonder if it's still worth to use.

I can combine Gut with Loot Prey and have a higher chance of dropping it, but I don't know if it's easier to drop one or to skin it.

First of all >>>>>Understanding the mechanics

To compare both charms properly, it’s important to separate how they work:

Gut

Increases the chance of Albino Dragon Leather dropping directly from the creature
Applies on every kill (always active)
Can be combined with Loot Prey for additional scaling

Scavenge

Increases the chance of successfully skinning Albino Dragon Leather from the corpse
Only applies if you actually skin the corpse
Requires time and access to every corpse
Guaranteed vs conditional value

The key difference is reliability:

Gut works on every single kill
Scavenge only works if you skin the corpse

Even if Scavenge improves your skinning chance, it still depends on:

Not missing corpses
Having time to skin
No interference from other players
Not sacrificing hunting speed

Because of this, Scavenge has a practical limitation in real scenarios.

Practical efficiency

Fast hunting (most common case):

You focus on kill speed and rotation
Some corpses are skipped

Result:
Gut performs better because it applies passively and does not slow you down.

Slow and controlled hunting (skinning everything):

You skin every corpse
No missed bodies

Result:
Scavenge becomes more relevant, but still usually does not outperform Gut.

Why? Because:

Gut improves the primary source (loot roll)
Scavenge improves a secondary attempt (skinning)

Improving the primary source tends to have a stronger overall impact.

Synergy advantage

Gut has an important advantage:

It stacks with Loot Prey
This directly increases the expected value per kill

Scavenge does not have a comparable scaling interaction.

Consistency and long-term results
Gut = stable and consistent gains
Scavenge = situational and execution-dependent

Over longer hunts, consistency generally leads to better results.

Final conclusion

For farming Albino Dragon Leather:

Gut is the most reliable and efficient choice
Gut + Loot Prey provides the best overall results
Scavenge is only worth considering if you skin every single corpse without exception

In general:

Improving a guaranteed system (loot) is stronger than improving a conditional one (skinning), which is why Gut remains the better option in most situations.

Well, I won't say you are wrong with this, it looks like you answered in the comment, but this is not the answer I'm looking for. Killing the Albino Dragons I will have both loot and corpse to skin, so there are two chances, let's say three chances since I'm using a Loot Prey and it can roll a second loot and in that second loot drop the Leather. What I want to know is if having Gut (probably generating a 3rd loot chance) gives me more chance than boosting the skinning ability. Remember, I will kill the Dragon and skin his corpse, so I have chance on both.
