Is it possible to undo the curse on Cursed Coin?

From the new World Event we are able to get the item:


It is said to be cursed and has negative physical protection stats.

There's also another item:


Can this ancient creature be connected to the cursed coin? Would it be possible to undo the curse on the coin?

That would be cool, but I think it's unlikely. If it were possible to remove the curse, the item's name would probably change, and it would have already been discovered via the Cyclopedia and/or Market. Or at least a second version of it would have been found the same way.

Or perhaps it's something to be developed in a future update. Only time will tell...
