Hi everyone,

Recently in a debate about Echo Wardens, someone pointed out that a Ghost Wolf cannot be an Echo Warden.

Up until now, I always assumed that any creature listed in the Bestiary could spawn as an Echo Warden during an Echo Raid. However, if Ghost Wolf is excluded, it got me wondering about the exact rules and criteria used to determine which creatures are eligible.

I am already familiar with Mirade's official post stating the general trigger rules for echo raids:

  • Limited to common and uncommon Bestiary creatures (neither a summon nor a raid monster).

  • Cannot appear in boss rooms.

  • Wild echo raids are not possible in spawns that cannot produce fiendish creatures.

  • Wild echo raids cannot spawn in very small subareas.

However, this doesn't fully explain why Ghost Wolf is excluded. So by these criteria, it doesn't make sense why they wouldn't show up.

What other regular Bestiary creatures fail to become Echo Wardens despite meeting Mirade's official rules?

I don't get the premise, surely ghost wolf is excluded by your first bullet point since it its bestiary category is "Rare"?

Apologies, I think I phrased it poorly, I'm not disputing that Ghost Wolves are rare in practice, but in terms of Bestiary mechanics, true "Rare" creatures (like Yeti or Panther) only take 5 kills. Ghost Wolf takes 500 kills and spawns across two separate caves both linked to Mini World Changes.

So from a Bestiary coding perspective, it's in the standard kill tier, which is why it feels confusing that it would be excluded under Mirade's rules at least in my opinion.

I think I need to change my core question to What creatures that aren't 5-kill Bestiary rares are also excluded from Echo Raids

It's simple: the Ghost Wolf is a creature categorized as "Rare" in the bestiary. That is what matters, not the number of creatures available at the spawn points.

The other creatures you mentioned in the comments are classified as "Very Rare". That is why the kill count required to complete their bestiary entries is lower.

And yes, the way CipSoft categorizes creatures can indeed be confusing —and sometimes it doesn't even make sense. In the case of the Ghost Wolf, it is classified as "Rare" because it lacks a fixed daily spawn, given that the creatures inhabiting that cave can change after the server save.

So, as you already pointed out, Echo Raids are limited to common and uncommon Bestiary creatures (neither a summon nor a raid monster).

Even though my question wasn't formulated correctly since I incorrectly assumed Ghost Wolf was Common/Uncommon your explanation made it clear why it's excluded. By pointing out that occurrence classification (Rare/Very Rare vs. Common/Uncommon) is the actual deciding factor, you gave me the exact key needed to determine which creatures can or cannot become Echo Wardens therefore i am marking it as correct
