Is there a way to keep your read-only tab open?

I always use the read only tab but always have to re-open it and it can be a hassle. Is there any way to lock this to your chat screen so you don't have to keep setting it up?

I don't think its possible. The read-only tab "clones" a selected window and shows it separately. Once you logout, the cloned window closes as well, and there's no button to mark/unmark this option. It's indeed a pain!
