Does using an exercise or training weapon train your shielding too?

I dont use the dummies aside from the daily rewards so my question is simple: does using any training or exercise weapon on an exercise dummy train your shielding too?

No, it does not. Each exercise weapon will only increase it's respective weapon skill, here is the list:

• Exercise Wand = Magic Level
• Exercise Rod = Magic Level
• Exercise Sword = Sword Fighting
• Exercise Club = Club Fighting
• Exercise Axe = Axe Fighting
• Exercise Bow = Distance Fighting
