Is there a way to buy something and have it go into a specific backpack?

I'm trying to make sure my backpacks are organized when I buy something. When buying ammunition or anything else is there a way to buy it from a NPC and have it go to a certain backpack? With multiple items it can cause problems as your backpacks get so unorganized.

Unfortunately, there isn't...

The backpack tool only works for looting, sadly.

When buying / trading / unequipping it all goes to the first available spot.
