In this year's updates we received extra perks and services to minimalize illegal activities by the players (training rods or selling characters). This reminded me video of characters banished online or some news like this. I was wondering what where the biggest punishments recorded so far?

I recall a story of cipsoft banning people because they were power abuser. I make this a comment not an answer because its an old school story which I have no evidence for

Entire guilds have already been banned for this. It was at Craban's time, good times.

I don't think this question is a duplicate. The reason being is what specifically talks about guilds the other talks about Tibia as a whole.

I agree, guild punishment is different from individual punishment (or punishment in general, as is the case here).

Imagine ... A player was coerced into joining (and paying for) a guild if he wanted to play in a particular world. If that weren't enough, the low clergy (as I like to call them), would still have to pay an even higher price: be held responsible for the hand that hits them and receive the same sentence: Deleted for power abuse.

I think this is the worst punishment of all. When you're innocent.

The worst punishment CipSoft handles is the deletion of a player's account. This has happened multiple times over the years, but CipSoft never announces or discusses specific cases publicly because it would violate their Terms of Service. Most accounts that have been deleted were for botting, automatically detected. Accounts can also be deleted due to bug abusing, severe/repeated rule breaking or other violations of the User Agreement.

From the official manual:

Account deletions are the most serious punishment in Tibia. They are only handed out if a player has violated the Tibia Rules repeatedly and/or in a very serious manner. Please note that unlike other entries in the rule violation record, entries that result in account deletions do not have to be acknowledged by the account user in order to proceed. However, as with any other rule violation record entry, players whose accounts are about to be deleted are granted a 60 days complaint period.
