We all know npc Avar Tar.

Dressed like true hero, he tell us many different stories of his life and also tell us a poem in bonelord language which he claims to know.

However from my observations, during the researches and studying 469 specificaly, nearly all of his words that he tells us in 469 aren't present inside the hellgate books. Which made me wonder about all of his other stories.

This is important due to a fact, that people tend to quote his response to bonelord language, as an example of an use to of language.

But basing on his other sayings, and how he act, my guess is that he don't know that language at all, and this is just all big fake.

29639 46781! 9063376290 3222011 677 80322429 67538 14805394, 6880326 677 63378129 337011 72683 149630 4378! 453 639 578300 986372 2953639! I know it’s rather short, but still, this poem I like best.

Only other npc that is speaking about bonelord language is Knightmare (NPC) himself which looks like this:

3478 67 90871 97664 3466 0 345!.

Other example of 469 speech - Elder Bonelord

659978 54764!653768764!

An example of 469 written down inside random hellgate book:

561145727857261185764364672435345275601928895219735364672496847560

65128

What is important here is the fact that spoken 469 does contain spaces, but one which is written down (books) doesn't. Think about for example french language where you don't pronounce some letters, but you write them down still.

Both Elder Bonelord and book inside hellgate library are reliable sources of information.
To prove the reliability of Knightmare (NPC) we need to observe that inside his shout,
the number 3478 is used, which is the name of an nostalgia bonelord on nostalgia island. And also I guess Knightmare himself is not lying about his possibility to speak 469.

First impression of Avar Tar recitating to us the poem in 469 is ok. At first we don't know if he is telling the truth or not, and the whole poem looks like 469 to us. So if someone is trying to impress us about that he did something, or know something, we can only detect if he is lying when we know the truth and can point out the mistakes or inconsistentness.

So we know the examples of spoken 469 from reliable sources. So now once again when we look or rather hear Avar Tar poem we can now see that for instance this part (bolded)

29639 46781! 9063376290 3222011 677 80322429 67538 14805394, 6880326 677 63378129 337011 72683 149630 4378! 453 639 578300 986372 2953639! I know it’s rather short, but still, this poem I like best.

is a mistake of his, since we know that the number should go 3478 and not 4378.

Furthermore if you read his stories once again, it seems like he is lying about his past in nearly every topic.

Avar Tar: Greetings, traveller Player!
Player: name

Avar Tar: I am sure it's hidden in a vault of the Nightmare Knights beneath the Plains of Havoc. I'm planning an expedition to go there and to rout out the Ruthless Seven, but I have to save the world first.

Avar Tar: I had to master the magic of all 4 vocations for one of the quests.
Player: news
Avar Tar: There is a great evil lurking beneath this isle ... and beneath the Plains of Havoc, and in the ancient necropolis, and beneath the Ghostlands ... well basically everywhere.
Player: demons
Avar Tar: Demons know and fear my name! It's not always easy to be a hero, you know?
Player: bonelord language
Avar Tar: 29639 46781! 9063376290 3222011 677 80322429 67538 14805394, 6880326 677 63378129 337011 72683 149630 4378! 453 639 578300 986372 2953639! I know it’s rather short, but still, this poem I like best.
Player: bye
Avar Tar: See you later, Player.

He is also part of Demon Outfit quests which also seems like he is being a hypocrite there stating

Avar Tar: I'm tired of all these young unskilled wannabe heroes.

My question is, if all of his stories are lies, and how would you prove it?

Like you said, if all of his stories are lies how would we prove it? Well, at this point in time we cannot prove or disprove. Well, personally I don't think he's lying, and if he is lying it sure did bring great flavor to the game. I will post some of my sources below as to why I'm torn or to why I choose to think this way, however you can choose to think another way as well-

"Fortunately, the greatest hero in Tibia, Avar Tar, guards the northern entry of the town day and night. His heroic deeds inspire many adventurers all across the Tibian lands and they follow his example by throwing Orshabaal back to the abyss whenever he threatens the inhabitants of Edron." Source: Tibia - Sep 08 2014 - A Visit to Edron

"People tend to think what they read in (real life) history books is the one and only, true and definite history of the world. Well it isn't. What we read in books was pictured out by historians from several source texts that they took as reference. Those texts are often biased and sometimes forged, sometimes based on misconceptions or hearsay. Instead of providing a definite history without doubts of blind spots, I try to give the players source material. In most cases they have to picture out the course of events on their own. It's their choice which text or NPC they believe. It's up to them to cross reference texts to figure out what truly happened. Of course it's not everyone's taste to do that kind of research or read about the research of others. But the material is there and it's growing and I think it provides a framework for their adventures that would probably feel dull if that framework would be absent, even for those less interested in it. I am a storyteller and like to tell stories, sometimes people enjoy listening ;o)" Source: Web Archive: Knightmare Interview

Thank you Shawtay for anwsering this question - haven't noticed tibia news for the Avar Tar mention.

Although the reason of my comment on this is different.

The newest find at reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/TibiaMMO/comments/qh0nvd/469_language/ tells that inside old tibia website in source code there is an modified version of the Avar Tar transcript about 469.

29639 46781! 9063376290 3222011 677 80322429 67538 14805394, 6880326 677 62792068657272657261 337011 72683 149630 4378! 453 639 578300 986372 2953639

what is different is this string in the website

62792068657272657261

is in the place of

63378129

in original transcript. Having this in mind, and the fact that cipsoft has put this on their website but changed, makes me feel more towards, that maybe Avar Tar does actually knows something about 469, and poem is somehow translatable, if it would mean either using different method to decrypt, as the Avar Tar is clearly speaking about the human version of bonelord language.
