Hi!

The question has arisen among the MS and ED's from my team if they would rather use Explosion runes on Ferumbras Mortal Shell instead of Sudden Death runes. I am just looking for a comparison between those two runes damaging Ferumbras.

Thanks!

Thx to Guildstats.eu I was able to ran some test where I took the damage of SD and reducted it to 35% (since feru takes 35% damage from all elements),  while the damage of explosion rune is total and these were the stats:

Level/SkillSudden Death Min-Max damage/Average DamageExplosion Min-Max damage/Average Damage
500/128251-383/ 317avg0-714 / 357avg
250/108202-314/ 258avg0-568 / 284avg

it seems that explosion rune not only have a lot more of max damage but its average damage is slightly higher too, so if we trust in the reliability of the calculator then my stats show up that the damage reduction on sd turn them really worthless when facing ferumbras mortal shell.

PD: I was unable to find exori moe ico stats and im unable to run test with it, but seems like those target exori share the same damage so if that's true exori moe ico also does more damage than sd.

Just out of curiosity, is it possible to deal 0 dmg with Explosion rune hitting Ferumbras Mortal Shell? Did anyone check it personally?

that's an odd question, since it doesn't have any damage modifier (100%) in physical damage we must assume that it only takes into account the damage of the explosion rune, which if the formula and the calculator are right have certain chances for us to do 0 damage at all, that said i dont think it must be specifically tested on ferumbras but whichever creature with the same elemental stat, unless other reason beyond my knowledge explain it
