Here are some issue's I've encountered trying to work on the charm:

The makeshift homes range is quite large, they have a lot of hp, and respawn quickly. I would destroy one home only to realize I was still within range of another home. By the time I destroyed the second home, the first one would be respawning.

If I lured the Lost Exiles to the entrance, there are only a few close enough to pull that far. Additionally, there are a lot of other creatures close to the entrance which need to be cleared as well.

What are some suggestions to charm them more efficiently?

There's no easy way to charm lost exile sadly, anyway here are some tricks for both alone players and team-high lvl players:

1- clean the first (and if you are quick enough the second room) before trying to destroy the first make-shift house, simply erase everything lost exiles included, that way you can focus solely in the makeshift house, then pull the exiles from the next room to the clean area once you destroyed the houses, if you can hit the house while hunting is okay but never destroy it before finishing the hunt because you can't waste time finishing mobs while pulling lost exiles all at the same time.

2- Remember that the most time you spend killing diremaws the more corpses you will have and the higher the chances of overpopulation of diremaws, so is highly recommended to bring at least 1 friend (ek and rp are more helpful since they can tank and turn the exiles melee), you can also pile up, destroy or disinfect the diremaws by yourself, but if you try to disinfect you can only do it 40 times.

3-  This charm is not recommended at rapid respawn at all, the amount of lost exiles is nothing compared to the amount of diremaws and deepworms, also the houses respawn so fast that there's no reason to destroy them anyway.

Here is the range of each house:
It's pointless to destroy only 2 makeshift houses so either you destroy only the first one or you destroy 3-4 if you are quick enough, the first makeshift house is the one that open the most area by itself so instead of destroying other houses just pull the most mobs to the minimum available range and kill them in there.

In the other hand, if you are quick enough My recommendation is destroying only three houses:

Destroying the 3 houses at the Black circle free the entire blue circle area which is a big enough area where you can pull a lot of mobs
