Considering all the changes brought about by the Winter Update 2024, the one that certainly provoked the most questions, improvements, community participation and obvious changes was the revision of the Charms.

Dragon Slayer Outfits | TibiaWiki | Fandom

One of the Minor Charms, called Scavenge, has an useful function, especially for those who want to collect Albino Dragon Leathers (valuable and rare creature items for the dragon slayer outfit) as it increases the probability of collecting those leathers. But its function has changed with the changes to this system.

To help answer this question: According to Tibia.Fandom, the effect of the charm was 25% before the change and worked as an additive according to Niadus' (Product Manager) post (Test Server board, on the image below), so it was something like X% of the natural probability of skinning a creature PLUS 25%.

Considering the new changes, the Scavenge Charm now works like this:
StagesEffect (on skinning, dusting)Interpretation
160% (non additive)Natural Skinning/Dusting probability * 1.6
290% (non additive)Natural Skinning/Dusting probability * 1.9
3120% (non additive)Natural Skinning/Dusting probability * 2.2

In an ideal world, where a dedicated player has access to and the chance of obtaining a stage 3 Scavenge, he could still be disadvantaged compared to a player before this update with an old scavenge charm. I'll leave a table below comparing both hypotheses:

OldNew (Stage 3)
Natural Skinning/Dusting probability (%) + 25%Natural Skinning/Dusting probability (%) * 2.2

The question, which will raise doubts among albino dragon hunters, is this: With the change, has it become rarer to obtain an albino dragon leather (and consequently the Dragon Slayer Outfit) by activating this rune and, if so, how rare is it now?

I must add that I pointed out on Test Server that this Charm was nerfed way too much. I was one of the few tibians that used this on regular Dragons very frequently and indeed, my results were low. Hopefully it will improve over time.

We don't have the exact value of the natural skinning/dusting probability, but let's assume it's 5%:

Old: 5 +25 = 30%

New (stage 3): 5 * 2.2 = 11%

Percentage drop: ((30 - 11) / 30) × 100 = 63,33%

In other words, considering this value of 5%, there was a 63.33% drop in the charm's efficiency.

Conclusion: yes, it has become rarer to obtain albino dragon leathers.
