Do pirates from Aragonia island count towards the pirate task?

I wonder if the new pirate monsters will count towards the legendary 'pirate task'. They're a bit easier than the demon+infernal demon ones, but maybe someone has already tested this?

No, the pirates of Aragonia don't count towards the task. The quest log makes it clear that only Marauders, Cutthroats, Buccaneers, and Corsairs must be killed.

As you can see in the screenshot, I killed some pirates on the new island, and the task counter remained at zero.

No, unfortunately they don't count for the task. As you can see, I've killed some new pirates and they didn't showed up on the task count. The task still counts only for the old pirates:
