During the Piece of Cake event, when my character is offline, the cooldown time decreases or keep the same?

During the Piece of Cake event, can I logout an return  after some time to eat the cake again or I must be ingame to cooldown time decrease?

You need to be online to eat again. You can eat 5 times until you are completely full and you need to wait around 4 minutes to eat another piece of cake again.
