Hello!

Today I was reading the rules of Tibia and I found this:

Rule 5B) Hacking: Stealing other players' account or personal data.

Trying to steal other players' account data:

Stealing another player's account or personal data or hacking an account is actually a real life crime and can lead to an investigation by the police if the original owner of the account decides to report it to them.

Apart from this, any attempt to steal a player's account or personal data such as spreading links in the game or on the website meant to trick other players into downloading a keylogger will lead to a long account banishment or even to the deletion of your account. If you should coincidentally get access to another player's account, e.g. because he treats his account data carelessly, you are required not to abuse this knowledge but should inform that player to secure his account.

And this specific part "hacking an account is actually a real life crime and can lead to an investigation by the police if the original owner of the account decides to report it to them" Make me think... Lets say I got hacked I report my account for Tibia, ok but what about the "police" ¿It is really possible to report it to the police?

I feels that If I go to the police to explain what happens they will probably laugh at me..IDK?

This feels like it should not be covered on this website as it covers 'lawyer terrority' and nothing to to with the internal gameplay. This is Tibia.com area and their area only

I asked cuz they say that as a fact, so I wonder in the way if someone tried it, or someone knows if it is really possible.

It's a real life crime to hack so you can report that you've been hacked to the police. I'm sure this law all depends on where you reside and the situation on how they handle it. Every hacking case can be different so I can't tell you exactly what happens. I had a friend from the United States about 5+ years ago whom advised me she was hacked and she called the police. The police apparently came to her home and said they weren't able to do anything because to my knowledge she was told who hacked her was overseas? I don't know to the extent of what they did or the truth of her story but when I see her I'll ask her what they did and to clarify and I'll edit my post. I'm sure they have to do some sort of research as to what happened and at least document it on their records for wherever you live. I will paste the Tibia Rule below so you can see the source:

Of course it is possible, but the other aspect is... that according to all my and my friends experience Police don't treat it serious and after half a year they mark the case as discontinued due to lack of evidence, even if you give them nickname of the hacker.

The only case when Police did something was when people shared personal data and photos of one girl without her permission.
