Is it possible to fusion an imbued item?

I want to fusion 2 items but one of them is imbued, I'm curious if it is possible to fusion or I need to clear the imbuement to use the forge.

No this is not possible. Items involved in a fusion or transfer must not be imbued. Therefore, you must clear the imbuement from the item before doing the fusion. CM Skerio wrote about it. 

Items involved in a fusion or transfer must not be imbued (but can be imbued after the fusion).
