I've seen some houses in Tibia with more than two hirelings...

You can purchase and place up to 10 hirelings in your house.

Every house owner can place up to 10 Hireling Apprentices in his house, each at the price of 150 Tibia Coins.

It also lists this in the store under the Hireling purchase. Sadly it is a limit of 10 per character no matter how many houses you have :(

House

Houses are private buildings that can be rented by players. They can be found anywhere in Tibia. Houses come in three forms: there are normal houses that are designed as resting places for single characters or for small groups of friends, shops in which players can build up a prospering business, and guildhalls in which whole guilds can find shelter!
