How does the item Net works?

Question

I read that you can get items by using Net in creatures, like Bats and Scorpions, but how does it work precisally?

The Net (Fishing) is an item used in the Kilmaresh quest. When you use this Item on the water you can catch a Calamary(Item)  or a Small Tortoise . You can also use the Net on a Bat  or Scorpion  to get them as itens. 

During the quest you can get a Petrified Tortoise  if you deliver a second tortoise to the npc Alyxo.

yeah and i want to add i tried using the net and it wouldn't let me , i think its only during the kilmaresh quest you can use it (maybe when your on that exact mission). after you complete the quest can you still use the net do you know? its ok if not.

It seems you need to get the quest from The npc Alyxo at the "The Boards that Mean the World" part of the Kilmaresh Quest in order to use it.
