Well, with the recent changes applied by CIP I think it's too early to say. Before the hunting balance paladins and knight used to have some good options to hunt solo e make  good profit and XP, while mages hunting alone use to have place more focused at profit.

I would say that paladins and knights worth to hunt alone, I'm have fried EK lvl 930 hunting Asura mirror and making 80% of XP that parties are doing at Library. But this question I think we must wait until CIP finishes the hunting balance then we must test the hunts to see how it will works.

Benefits of Solo HuntingBenefits of Team Hunting
1) ALL YOURS!
Loot and experience is all yours, you don't have to share with anyone or argue about who gets what
1) Party Bonus
Activating shared experience depending on the vocation, party size and if they qualify you can get additional experience more than you get solo:
Same vocation- 20%
2 different vocations- 30%
3 different vocations- 60%
4 different vocations- 100%
2) Convenient
Can stop your hunt at any time without bothering team mates
2) Opportunity
More hunting areas as a team compared to solo
3) Independence
Time to yourself to focus on your skills as an individual, sometimes being independent is good
3) Safety
Safer compared to being by yourself in case you experience lags or kicks or having trouble killing something.
4) Trust
Sometimes you can only trust yourself when it comes to splitting loot and your safety, however I'm sure a lot of people can argue with this if you found hunting partners you can trust.
4) High-paced
Can kill things faster than being solo which leads to more experience, bestiary, and hunting task completion, and ultimately more loot and/or experience depending on where you hunt.

I'm not familiar with paladins as much as I am as a druid  so I cannot speak for paladins so I made just a general chart of the benefits of hunting in a team compared to solo. I hope I helped somewhat.
