I see that berserk potions are often cheap in market and no one seems to use it.

I was wondering why this is the case? I assume it is due to the -10 shielding, but does it affect my defense, even if I don't use a shield? For example, if I use two-handed sword, will the -10 affect me at all?

No one uses them because it only increases your skills by 5 while the Blood rage spell (Utito tempo) increases your skills by 35%.

And yes it does affect your shielding even if you are not carrying a shield (i.e. using a two-hand weapon), because it decreases your shielding skills, not the defense value of the shield you're using.

I was thinking in using both blood rage + sword ring + berserk potion, will there be a conflict if I use them all?
Also, I tried the tibia-stats damage reduction calculator and having less shielding skill does not seem to change overall defense if I dont use shield.

any spell/food/potion that boost your skills cancels the effect of any other previously used food/potion/spell to boost your skills, so if you use for example a berserk potion to get an extra +5 of axe/sword/club fighting and then use the blood rage spell you are going to loose those extra +5 you got from the berserk potion, doesn't matter if the potion had an effect of 10 minutes on your character and you used the blood rage 20 seconds after you used the potion.

Regarding the shielding skills, I'm not completely sure but I've read somewhere that if you are killing more than 3 monsters at the same time your shielding skill doesn't have any effect at all, that's why many knights prefer to use a two-handed weapon, and only use a shield when you need that extra % of elemental protection using an imbuement on your shield

Using blood rage cancels the  +5 skill effect of berserk potion while the -10 shielding effect is not being cancelled. So it's not really efficient to use it if your lvl is higher than 60 (blood rage requirement). I personally use only when I'm lvling my bosschecker/bosskiller knights to lvl 50.

These potions used to be more expensive in 2007/2008, until the blood rage got implemented to the game.

Yes, you are right they are cheap but it is all because a lot falls out of bosses. I think it is not because it has -10 def. People just have this tone. I myself am an example of this. I have about 10k potions, everything from bosses.

I use these potions on my knight (100+) with skills of 115. I use one-handed weapons and I don't see much difference. I think that with two-handed weapon it will work the same way because it has def. I don't know how to use smaller skills but for bigger skills there is no difference.
