How to earn 'titles' and what are they useful for?

Today after the update when I logged in, I received a lots of 'titles', the amount depends of the character I logged in, so I guess they are related with quests, access, maybe levels, but I don't know for sure.

Anyone does? Are they useful for something?

You can earn titles by reaching the goals that each of them mentions.
For example Beastrider Grade 3  is to get 30 mounts.

The use of them is just for show to other people that you have earned that "goal" like something that is cool to show because is hard or is something that you are proud of.

You can pick from your earned titles one to show off.
The chosen title will show up when checking your Character in-game, as well as inside Tibia.com forum below your Character name when posting.

Some titles are temporarily,  it means that you own the title while you are online and you are the best on that specific situation. For example: the character online with the highest distance skill in the server own a tilte temporarily  for that until he loggout or other player with higher skill login.

+1 And they might not be permanent, some of them you can lose if you no longer fit its requirements.

Well there is a indicator that tells you if that is permanent or not , like mounts , if you get 30 mounts thats permanent because you cant lose them
