How to do a strong password? What are the measures that we should do? What is an example of a decent password to avoid being hacked?

Interesting. So only you or the moderator can actually delete a post?

But ok, I guess I'm fixing the question and answer.

Yes, it can only be completely removed by admins. Hiding it is sufficient for the users though. No one can see it anymore and all the votes do no longer count on hidden questions.

Well, thanks a lot for the information!

Creating a safe password ensures more safety to your Tibia hero. Making it harder to break is the first step when you want more safety.
A good behavior to start your journey is avoiding dangerous or shady websites, like the ones selling Tibia items and/or promoting Tibia Servers without any relation to Cipsoft. Memorizing your password is the best thing to do, but it is advised to write down it on a paper and keep stored on a safe place on your house. If you click on every link or access shady/suspicious websites, no matter what password you do, it will permanently be at risk. Be savvy while surfing on the internet!

Remember that you can change your password anytime you want.Simply log on Tibia, click on My Account on the left side, click on Manage Account and now click on Change Password, right under your register information.

This quick tutorial covers a good and quick explanation on how to elaborate a good password for your account, I will summarize the most important points before sending the link:

  • Do not use easy sequences or obvious names (i.e.: Yourname12345)
  • Try to merge the password with capital letters mixed, along with special characters or numbers(i.e.:Ir5ll@Adrt67)
  • Making a long password makes it much more harder to be discovered! Try to use the maximum of characters available on your code!
  • Always update your computer antivirus.
  • Remember to follow Tibia rules: Do not share or buy accounts. Your account will be with permanent risk if you do it (it also puts your account on the risk of being deleted).

Using Tibia's Authenticator and keeping the Recovery Key that you receive upon registering in a safe spot of your house is a good call as well, and will certainly protect you in case of a incident where your account is accessed by a stranger!

Further hints can be found detailed here, but they are pretty much what I said above. Stay safe on your journey!

Answers that mostly send users to external resources are discouraged. They can serve as references, but the answer should not lose the value if the external resource is no longer available.

Was it even mentioned at some point on this website before? I made it this way because the video itself is way more comfortable rather than writing down a lengthy guide. Keep in mind that what I wanted to guide the person looking this question was something basic that works better with images and videos.

I can write down a guide however, if that's the case. I apologize if you feel that I'm not doing a good job on it. Another thing: Why I can't delete questions or answers? Why I can't control my own content on this website?

BTW, the video regarding a strong password is quick and simple, easy to assimilate by people looking for basic guidance.

How about summarizing the video in a few bullet points and then linking it? Also, the answer should really deal with the "safe passwords" only, because that's what is in the question.

You should be able to hide your own answers and questions (the answer may need to be hidden first, then question)

My bad. I missed this important information on the guide. You are right.

According to the traditional advice—which is still good—a strong password:

Has 12 Characters, Minimum: You need to choose a password that’s long enough. There’s no minimum password length everyone agrees on, but you should generally go for passwords that are a minimum of 12 to 14 characters in length. A longer password would be even better.

Includes Numbers, Symbols, Capital Letters, and Lower-Case Letters: Use a mix of different types of characters to make the password harder to crack.

Isn’t a Dictionary Word or Combination of Dictionary Words: Stay away from obvious dictionary words and combinations of dictionary words. Any word on its own is bad. Any combination of a few words, especially if they’re obvious, is also bad. For example, “house” is a terrible password. “Red house” is also very bad.

Doesn’t Rely on Obvious Substitutions: Don’t use common substitutions, either — for example, “H0use” isn’t strong just because you’ve replaced an o with a 0. That’s just obvious.

Don't use personal data: Its too common use dates or names who are important to us as password, but the name of your son or your weddings date can be easily hacked.
